Long live the newlyweds!

We rode a lot during the first four days of our journey. Our goal was to arrive as soon as possible to St-Jean-Mirabel, where some of our friends were gathered to celebrate the wedding of You-Mi and Martin.

The first day was quite difficult, mostly because of the party on the day before and the consequent 2-hours sleep. Nevertheless, we still rode 125 km, before sleeping behind a municipal stadium.

On Sunday, again a tough cycling day with 125 km, through places like "Givors City" (as we were told by a local) and St-Etienne. Our last strenghts were swallowed by a imposing climb. This didn't keep us from riding westward through the "hills" and majestic roads of Massif Central on Sunday!

At the end of the day when we were looking for a place to sleep, a friendly Cantalou requested us to keep out of his parking lot with a rifle in his hand. We left.

On Tuesday, the day began with the climb of the pass of Cère (next to the Lioran ski resort).

Later on, I took advantage of the draft behind the "Akira Express" and let myself roll untill the final climb. When we arrived at St-Jean-Mirabel, we were delighted to meet 10 friends that were waiting for us at the end of the road! After a hard day of cycling, this was a very pleasant surprise.

The next days were spent in a very festive atmosphere. We were hosted by the groom's family: Max, Big Max, Harold, Pascale and Jean-Pierre. They gave us such an outstandingly warm welcome that we almost felt like part of the family. A big thanks to them!

Our activities during those days: recording a small film in Rocamadour for You-Mi and Martin's wedding, the civil marriage and the subsequent open house party, wedding in Rodez, reception at l'hostellerie de Fontanges (until 7am, we ended up with some friends and a waiter in a room that was not ours for an after-party) and finally, a brunch around the pool.

After these memorable days, we left even more tired than when we had arrived, but with our minds full of nice memories. Our warmest thanks go to You-Mi and Martin, their family, the best man Armando and the maid of honor Carla for the unforgettable moments that we had throughout the week. After spending time with close friends and such generous persons, the farewell was tough.

We are headed to Brugnac (in fact, we already passed it... but... shhhhh ;-) ).
